Stephen and I discussed names pretty early on in the pregnancy. We would say the names out loud and try to call the baby by that name. It is hard to give someone a name that will last his/her lifetime when you have never met this person! The girl names were easy for us and the boy names were a little harder. At the 12 week check up when the doctor told us he was 90% sure it was a girl, the name Shiloh immediately began to stick. We like it because it is unique and there won't be 100 of them in her kindergarten class! Shiloh is a Hebrew biblical name meaning "His gift" and "peace." It is also a famous battle in the civil war. (A battle the South won the first day but lost the second day...dang yankees). Anyway, we have decided to call this little girl Shiloh. We have not determined a middle name yet but, stay tuned.
In other news, those of you that know Dierk really well know that you can practically have a dialog with him and somehow he understands what you are saying...or part of it anyway. I said to him today, "Dierk, Shiloh is coming soon." He went straight to look out the window in the living room as if he was looking for her to just drive up. He waited so long for her that he fell asleep...
Also, I forgot to mention in my last post how we told Stephens parents they are going to have a grandDAUGHTER. Gigi's cupcakes in East Cobb made me 2 boxes of cupcakes early that Thursday morning. I called them as soon as I knew it was a girl and the decorated them all up for me. We met Stephen's parents at Brookwood Grill that day for lunch and they had to open up the box to find out that we were having a girl!!
What a creative way of making your announcement! You guys are great at thinking of fun ways to celebrate. BTW, how was the ole' Grill?
