You guessed it! We are having a sweet little baby girl. The doctors appointment went fantastic on Thursday. The doctor checked everything from the top of her head to the tip of her toes. The actual ultrasound itself lasted close to thirty minutes. The level of ultrasound technology absolutely fascinates me. We saw both hemispheres of her brain and the fontenel (soft spot), the spinal cord, the cardiac and pulmonary vessels flowing through her heart and lungs, her stomach with the mesenteric arteries, the kidneys with both renal arteries, and both femoral arteries going down her legs. They checked for everything including signs of Downs Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Club Foot, Cleft Palate and various kidney, heart and lung disorders. I like to brag on Dr. Moore every chance I get. He really is the best. I feel so comfortable asking him anything and he offers up so much information without me having to ask. As Stephen says, Dr. Moore makes his job look so easy! It was wonderful to walk out knowing her little body is forming just the way it should. WHEW.
Here are a few pics...
The rest of the weekend with mom was a blast. We were able to do the baby registries at Target and Babies R Us. Mom was a champ at both places and I am certain I couldn't have done it without her. She kept us on task and asked all the right questions when we needed some help deciding. What would I have done without her?! She kept me laughing and was the reason we got so much done this weekend. She doesn't know it but I cried when she left. I think the last time I cried when she left me was in nursery school. I hope this little girl needs me as much as I need my mom :)
Oh and also as you can see from the pregnancy ticker up top, I am HALF WAY THROUGH. I cannot believe it! July is going to be here before we know it!!!!!!!
