"This too shall pass"

As most of you already know, I have been battling a brutal kidney stone since Thursday of last week.  I have had some aches and pains in my time but nothing like this.  There isn't much you can do for it while pregnant either.  You just have to drink a gallon of water a day and take some low dose meds to get you through it.  I've had the option of going to the hospital but that would entail medications and procedures that in my mind cannot be healthy for Shiloh.  As you know, birth defects are something very real to me and I do not take them lightly.  So as long as I can bear this at home, I will.

On a happier note I have been overwhelmed by the love and support of my family and friends.  First of all, Stephen has been my rock.  I have said over and over again, this pregnancy has brought our marriage to a whole new level.  For the first time ever, I have needed him to physically take care of me.  Lately, I have thought a million times over about the words, "in sickness and in health" and what that really means. Stephen hasn't missed a beat through any of this and has somehow managed to juggle the house and work beautifully. He is excellent at just holding my hand and making me smile.  I thank my lucky stars God gave me such a good one!
Next is my mama.  She sent me my favorite plant in the world, a hydrangea.  A pink one even!  I called her Sunday and said, "mama I need you" and she was at the front door literally 4 hours later.  She took me to the doctor, asked all the right questions and of course made me laugh even when I was hurting the most.  She has a way about her that just swoops in and saves the day.  She made us stir fry with homemade egg rolls and they were to die for.  Then some oatmeal cookies that were out of this world.  She is so good at the little things.
And of course there is Mike and Amanda. As soon as Amanda knew, she was over to the house in an instant with a care package.  At the front door, she had a bag full of all the latest gossip and fashion magazines and the best fruit smoothie I have ever had in her hand.  This girl knows me well :) She also included this heat pack that I don't have to bend over and plug in.  It has been a life saver.   She is a nurse by profession and an excellent one at that! She has a heart of gold and she is one in a million.  Where would I be without Amanda?  Stephens parents, my grandparents and friends from out of town have been calling to check on me daily.  I FEEL SO LOVED!  I LOVE ALL YOU GUYS SO VERY MUCH!
